Be it small screen or the big screen the returns are high for appearing on the screen. With the growing reality shows, Bollywood celebrities have tied the anchored ship to a whole lot of pay.
Madhuri Dixit and the charisma
Known as the dancing queen of Bollywood, it is not surprising when she returned onscreen. She embarked as the judge of a dance show airing on TV.
Her talent speaks forth in her eyes. No wonder, the actress was paid a whopping Rs. 1 crore per episode till the 7th season of the dance reality show.
Amitabh Bachchan and the voice
Now we all know that ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ helped Big B to revive his career after he faced bankruptcy. But you will not believe how much he got paid to host one of the most successful shows on the small screen.
Big B hosted Kaun Banega Crorepati’s all seasons, except Season 3 for which he was paid 3.5-5 crore per episode.
Shah Rukh Khan and wooing!
The witty actor started with 10 Ka Dum show for which he charged 3 crores per episode and later hosted Bigg Boss Season 4 at 6.5 Crore per episode which further increased to 8.5 Crore and since then he has become the best anchor of the controversial reality show.
After settling for merely Rs 60-70- lakhs for hosting ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, Shah Rukh Khan chose to up his scale and charge a whopping Rs 2.5 Crores per episode for ‘Kya Aap Panchvi Pass Se Tez Hain’.
Salman Khan, the boss!
The big boss show has a different ball game because of the commanding anchoring by Salman Khan. This reality show has been loved by the Indian audience, and there are people who watch this show ardently every day.
Now obviously since the show’s TRPs are unbelievably high, the host would obviously charge a bomb of Rs 1.5 Crores.
Aamir Khan and the stream of thoughts
Aamir Khan’s Satyamev Jayate is another hit TV show on Star Plus that highlights the societal issues and features actual victims who narrate their shocking stories to live audience. Although the show runs for a period of one month, the viewership rate is beyond belief. Aamir Khan gets paid an amount of approximately Rs 3 Crores per episode. Yes, that’s how much he gets for shedding innumerable tears on the show.
Aamir Khan has made his debut on television by hosting Satyameva Jayate for which he was given around 3-4 crore per episode.
Akshay Kumar first, daring next.
The least of the lot is the action superstar of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar who hosted the ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi”, an Indian version of the American stunt reality show ‘Fear Factor’. This Bollywood actor gets Rs 70 lakhs per episode, which is quite a lot for the common man but not so much for a star who has reached an epitome of success.
Shahid Kapoor, the judge!
It was a pleasant surprise to see Shahid Kapoor as a judge for a dance reality show, but his love and passion—not to mention his skill—in dance just made it all click perfectly. Shahid made his TV debut in 2015 with Jhalak Dikhla Jaa Reloaded and charged Rs. 1.75 crore per episode to judge the show!
It was more shocking than surprising when Jacqueline wore the shoes of a judge when she judged the ninth season of Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa. She is undoubtedly a skilled dancer, and her moves can totally lift up your spirits in a second, that gorgeous face helps after all! Don’t gasp with a shock when we tell you she was paid Rs. 1.25 crore per episode!
Shilpa Shetty has more than an enviable body to boast of, to cut short—her business acumen. She is notably one of the most successful businesswomen in India, and knows how to earn money, err lots of money! She has judged a couple of dance reality shows starting with Nach Baliye, Zara Nachke Dikha, Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, and had a comeback with a dance reality show for kids titled SuperDancer. She earned Rs. 14 crores from the first season. Now that’s really something!
She rocked the floor with her killer and flexible dance moves in every film that she has done. Everybody loves Sonakshi’s songs and definitely shake a leg to her numbers. Probably why the actress decided to cash in on it, and hopped on the ‘judge’ panel in the last season of celebrity dance reality show, Nach Baliye for which she was paid Rs. 1 crore per episode.
Malaika Arora Khan
TV’s favourite and hottest celebrity judge has to be—hands down—Malaika Arora Khan. The gorgeous and super-fit actor judged India’s Got Talent and reportedly charged Rs. 1 crore per season.
If you’re in love with this adorable Punjabi mom on-screen, we feel you. Kirron Ker is not only super-talented when it comes to acting, but is a wise businesswoman as well. Besides an occasional film or too, she minted at least Rs. 2 crores per season, when she was judging India’s Got Talent alongside Karan Johar and Malaika Arora.
